Pembroke Pines Student Allegedly Threatened to ‘Shoot Someone' on Social Media: Police

A Pembroke Pines student was arrested Monday for allegedly threatening on social media to "shoot someone" in her school, police said.

Police arrested a 12-year-old girl from Pembroke Pines Charter Central after an anonymous complaint about the threatening posts, authorities said.

The girl admitted to posting "if I get this one more time I will shoot someone" and "no one go to school tmrrw" on Snapchat and said she posted them due to being bullied in school, according to Pembroke Pines Police Department spokesperson Amanda Conwell.

The girl told police she did not intend to act upon the threat and did not have any access to firearms, Conwell said.

She was charged with a second-degree felony for making a false report concerning the use of a firearm in a violent manner and was transported to the juvenile assessment center, according to police.

A 19-year-old student from Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines was arrested last week after he made a comment in class about shooting his enemies.
