Your Personal VIP List: 4th of July Edition

The Fourth of July is a celebration of commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th. But really, it’s no doubt one of your favorite days filled with family and friends. But nothing can really be enjoyed without fireworks. That is where we have you covered.

We found seven events, from Coral Gables to Fort Lauderdale, that are celebrating all that is America all day long.

The Biltmore 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables
If a perfect evening with the family is your idea of the Fourth, then head over to The Biltmore. The Historic hotel is pairing up with the city of Coral Gables to really turn it out. Starting at 4 p.m., there will be a cookout for $115 for adults & $40 for children. It includes an American-style cook-out and open bar. If you really want to impress, take your friends and family over to The Biltmore where they will have VIP cabanas available for $395.  For those you on a budget, the hotel will have twelve food trucks from all over Miami around their famous golf course there to serve you. Then at 9 p.m., all the fun begins with fireworks.

Brother Jimmy’s BBQ 900 South Miami Ave, Miami
Brother Jimmy’s BBQ in Brickell, a newcomer to the block, is taking no time to get to know their neighbors. They will be hosting a block party out front of its Mary Brickell Village location. From 4 to 10 p.m., guests will enjoy a complimentary pig roast along with gratis Sailor Jerry Rum cocktails such as the Backyard Tea and Rockabilly Lemonade, and all-American brews by Budweiser. The shin dig will also feature a special live performance by New Orleans-based band Rockin Dopsie Jr & the Zydeco Twisters, flown in from Louisiana to fully capture the spirit of the South.

Key Biscayne Fourth of July Parade
Key Biscayne Island
Really, who doesn’t love a parade? And on July 4th, it seems like the very American thing to do. Figuring this is their 53rd annual Fourth of July parade, people must really love it. The patriotic extravaganza will begin at 11 a.m. and head down Crandon Bouelvard for all to see. Once that is said and done, head over to Key Biscayne Beach Club for some BBQ grub and fireworks that start at sundown. How romantic!

HIGHBAR at The Dream Hotel 1119 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach
Ladies, If you want to use your independence day to win some cash, then because we live in Amierca, you can do that. HIGHBAR at the Dream Hotel is teaming up with Icon Entertainment and Mega 94.9 to salute the nation with beats, drinks and the ultimate bikini contest.  Latin Grammy Award winning duo, Chino & Nacho will be judging Miami’s women in the pageant, where the winner will bring home $1,000. Guests will dine on traditional Independence Day fare, and be treated to bottle and cabana specials while listening to transcendent beats from renowned DJ, DJ Hans.

Miami Children’s Museum 980 MacArthur Causeway, Miami
If ladies in flaunting around in bikinis maybe isn’t your idea of fun (see above), then may we suggest the Miami Children’s Museum. First, it will be a terrific history lesson seeing that John Adams will be signing the declaration of independence for all to see. Not to mention that there are promising lots of watermelon, water games and much more. Oh and the best part: it’s totally free.

America’s Back Yard 100 Southwest 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale
College kids and twenty-somethings, listen up: we found the perfect celebration to celebrate our nation. Only problem: it’s in Fort Lauderdale. America’s Backyard bash is throwing a Red, White and Brew party that is sure not to disappoint. There will be $1 drafts, $5 burgers, snowball fights and hula hoop contests all day long. For those of you looking to get into the holiday spirit, dress up as Uncle Sam to receive a $20 gift certificate.

RokBar 1905 Collins Ave, Miami Beach
Just looking to use July 4th as the perfect night to go out? We approve of this, of course. RokBar, one of South Beach’s staples, is open after renovations and they are coming out with a bang. Starting Wednesday, they will present patrons with live music from 9 p.m. to midnight and then DJ sets till 5 a.m. They have been open for seven years – they must be doing something right.
