Closing Arguments in Novack Widow Murder Trial

Fort Lauderdale woman accused of killing millionaire husband and his mother

Fifty days after opening statements, lawyers are making their closing arguments at the trial of a Florida woman accused in the killings of her millionaire husband and his mother.

Narcy Novack of Fort Lauderdale and her brother, Cristobal Veliz, are charged with murder in the 2009 beating deaths of Ben Novack Jr. in New York and Bernice Novack in Florida.

Ben Novack was the son of the builder of the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach.

Prosecutors say Narcy Novack feared he would divorce her and she would lose out on the family estate. They say she and her brother hired thugs to carry out the assaults.

The prosecution's summation is expected to fill Tuesday. The defense follows on Wednesday and the case should go to the jury on Thursday.
