Crowder to Return, But Not With Dolphins

Former Miami LB blasts the current Dolphins regime yet again, in case anyone didn't already know how he felt

Channing Crowder reminded a certain segment of Miami Dolphins fans why they like him so much: his intense antipathy toward Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland.

The former Dolphins linebacker, who abruptly retired last summer after the team cut him during training camp, vowed Wednesday to make a comeback in 2012. He also got in a number of digs on his former boss Ireland in the process.

Speaking during the Sid Rosenberg radio show on 560 WQAM Wednesday, broadcast from Indianapolis for Super Bowl week, Crowder said he "retired" last August in part because his wife was 37 weeks pregnant at the time, but he wants to return to the NFL.

However, his return will not come in a Dolphins uniform, since Crowder can't stand Ireland. "I wouldn’t go on a team with Jeff Ireland," Crowder said. "I'm not very confident in him."

To be fair, it's not like the Dolphins are beating down doors to get Crowder back. They cut him in August, after all.

Regardless, Crowder can't help himself when the subject of the Dolphins comes up, such is his distaste for Ireland.

"He doesn’t know what he’s doing in my opinion. He’s real disrespectful, he doesn’t know how to deal with people and the whole Dez Bryant (situation) kind of showed to the world what he’s about, but guys in the building know what he’s really about."

In case you had forgotten, Ireland asked Dez Bryant (now with the Cowboys) before the 2010 NFL Draft if his mother had once been a prostitute.

"He's not a good person," Crowder concluded. "He has no class, and I wouldn't choose to go back and play there. And I would have to say it's the only team I don't want to play for."

Not that the Dolphins were worried about Crowder refusing to play for them, but at least now they know exactly how he feels about the franchise.
