Family Pleads for Public to Help Catch Killer of Man Fatally Shot Outside Houston's in Aventura

Brad Timpf was killed in 2006

On Dec. 6, 2006, just outside Houston’s restaurant in Aventura someone tried to carjack Brad Timpf and shot him six times. One fatal bullet when straight to his heart.

Timpf, 32, had just walked his blind date to her car.

The five years since the death have been hard for his family.

Timpf’s father Conrad constantly thinks about his son and his pride shows, as he talks about how he was a University of Miami graduate, a basketball player and a successful chiropractor.

“After five years, instead of playing 100 or 200 times a day maybe I still run it 50 times a day which is still a lot to figure out what happened,” said Brad’s father Conrad Timpf.

He was someone who gave back to the community, his dad said.

“He was such an outgoing type person that everybody loved him, and you can’t picture anybody hating somebody that much to take his life,” he said.

For Brad’s sister Abbey, the murder is exceptionally painful and sad. The big brother she was so close to has missed so much of their lives.

“The five years go by and I’ve gotten married and have a daughter and pregnant again, expecting again and these are all the things that he’s missed. The five years go but the pain is still there,” she said.

Detectives still keep in touch with the family, informing them of any leads, which are fewer and far between, said Conrad Timpf.

“We really thought it would be solved a lot faster with forensics, and of course when you watch TV everything’s solved within 30 minutes or an hour. But obviously, as time has gone on you realize that you really need the public’s help,” he said.

The family is offering a $66,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who killed Brad.

“It’s a bittersweet thing you know, because it doesn’t bring him back but you want the person who did this off the streets so they don’t hurt another family. But then you also have a face to the person who did it,” Abbey Timpf said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
