Suspect Charged in Sidewalk Shooting, 1 More At Large

Christopher Curry, 16, was granted $300,000 bond with house arrest.

Police have arrested 16-year-old Christopher Curry after identifying him as a suspect in the August murder of Mira Smith, 21.

Smith was shot to death on Aug. 10 on the 10200 block of Southwest 173rd Terrace, according to Miami-Dade Police. His brother, Michael Baker, was there at the time of the shooting and hit by a bullet in the leg.

Baker said two gunmen came out of some nearby bushes and started shooting at the brothers, but doesn't know why. The second suspect has not yet been identified.

Curry, who was already on juvenile probation, was granted $300,000 bond with house arrest.
