2 Teens Shot, 1 Arrested After Shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade

Two 16-year-old males were shot, one fatally, in southwest Miami-Dade Sunday evening.

Miami-Dade Police said shots were fired just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Southwest 280th Street and Southwest 141st Avenue in Leisure City in southwest Miami-Dade.

When police responded, they found the two teens suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where one of the teens died. He has been identified as Rahkeem Brown, a freshman at Homestead High School.

"He had a promising career, so he was hanging with the wrong crowd, that's what he did. That's what the result is," said Marcus Brown, victim's uncle.

The other teen shot was identified as 16-year-old Tyvontae Robinson. He is in critical condition.

On Monday evening, police said they arrested a 15-year-old Florida City male and charged him with first degree murder for his involvement in the shooting.

The suspect's name will not be released by NBC 6 unless he's charged as an adult.
