2016 Billboard Latin Music Conference Preview

The 27th edition of the Billboard Latin music conference kicks off this week at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach.

The longest running and most prestigious conference dedicated to Latin music returns with four-days of jam-packed musical showcases, Q&A session, panels and one-on-one workshops featuring top industry artists and influencers culminating with the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Leila Cobo, Billboard’s executive director of Latin content and programming is scheduled to lead the conversation in several of the Q&A sessions including the “Iconic Songwriter Q&A with Reggaeton singer Nicky Jam” and the “Legends Session with Mexican superstar, Marco Antonio Solis.”

Billboard’s Latin issue cover boy Marc Anthony who just launched his media production company Magnus Media with headquarters in Miami, headlines the panel “Music That Stands the Test of Time” where he will discuss the secret behind his musical approach to creating hit songs.

One of the most anticipated panels this year is the “Clash of the Titans” featuring the reunion of reggaeton superstars Daddy Yankee and Dom Omar who will share secrets about their well-known musical rivalry and to talk about their upcoming tour The Kingdom.

The conference wraps up with the Billboard Latin Music Awards where this year performances will be ruled by an array of duets including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Juanes and Juan Gabriel.

The awards hosted by Telemundo’s Gaby Espino and Mexican singer, Pedro Fernandez will feature celebrity presenters such as Rafael Amaya, Adriana Lima, Angelica Vale and Don Francisco among others.

Honoring finalist based on actual sales, radio airplay, song streaming and social data updated weekly on the Billboard charts, the awards will broadcast live on NBC Universal’s sister station, Telemundo next Thursday, April 28 from the Bank United Center in Miami preceded by the red carpet show “La Alfombra de Premios Billboard.”
