No. 1 – South Florida is in for a wet day with showers and storms coming through the area as part of the latest front arriving. Rain chances stick around through the weekend along with cooler temperatures.
No. 2 - A former prison guard trainee who recently moved to Florida from Indiana killed five people during a standoff at a small town bank before surrendering to a SWAT team that stormed the building, police said.
Investigators said Zephen Xaver, 21, called police from inside the SunTrust Bank branch in Sebring on Wednesday to report that he had opened fire. He barricaded himself inside and when negotiations failed, the SWAT team burst in, capturing Xaver and discovering the bodies, police said.
No. 3 - President Donald Trump said he is postponing his State of the Union address until the partial government shutdown ends, yielding after a weeklong showdown with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Following a high-stakes game of dare and double-dare, Trump conceded Wednesday night that "no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber." He said he was not looking for an alternate option after Pelosi served notice earlier in the day that he wouldn't be allowed to deliver the address to a joint session of Congress next week.

No. 4 - A woman who is seen in a now-viral video yelling at a group of young activists protesting housing inequality on Martin Luther King Jr. Day has been fired from her job.
Insignia International Properties, a luxury real estate company in downtown Miami, posted on its Facebook page Tuesday that Dana Scalione is "no longer affiliated" with the company.
No. 5 - General Mills announced it was recalling some 5-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached Flour.
The company said the voluntary recall was being issued "for the potential presence of salmonella which was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product."
The bags being recalled have a better if used by date of April 20, 2020.
No. 6 - If you took a flight in and out of Miami International Airport during 2018, you were part of a record setting year for one of America’s biggest travel centers.
Officials announced the airport passed the 45 million passenger mark last year, the most in their history and nearly one million more passengers than what passed through in 2017.
