Armed Thieves Rob Pembroke Park Metro PCS Store With Rifle

Authorities are searching for a group of suspects who robbed a Pembroke Park cell phone store using a semi-automatic rifle in a frightening incident that was caught on camera.

The robbery happened Wednesday afternoon at the Metro PCS at 3934 Pembroke Road, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

The three suspects drove up to the store and two went inside while the driver stayed behind. One carried the rifle as they entered the store screaming "give me the register," authorities said.

"He's running around pointing this assault rifle, holding it with one hand, it could've gone off at any moment. So obviously these men are very dangerous," BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said.

The suspect pointed the rifle at the employees and customers, including a baby, and ordered them not to move. They stole three cash drawers and fled the store.

Witnesses said they ran out the door so fast that a trail of money fell out after them. The incident report said employees pushed the store panic button, but it malfunctioned.

The suspects, who covered their faces, were in a 2010-2014 Nissan Maxima. One was about six feet tall with a thin build, while the second was about 5-foot-8 with a thin build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
