A bicyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by a car Monday morning in Pompano Beach.
The incident happened in the 300 block of Southeast 11th Avenue and 3rd Street around 9:45 a.m., according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The victim, unidentified, is a male in his 50’s who was riding off the shoulder on the southbound lane of Southeast 11th Avenue when he cut across the path of the vehicle, the BSO said.
He was transported by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue to North Broward Medical Center and was reported to be in critical condition.
The driver stayed on the scene.
