The accident happened in the 3600 block of Coral Ridge Drive near Southwest 36th Street around 8:30 a.m. when Officer John Malvin somehow collided with a Broward County school bus, according to Coral Springs Police spokesman Lt. Joe McHugh.

Malvinwas airlifted to a nearby hospital in serious condition, McHugh said. He was later listed in fair condition with several fractures to his shoulder, as well as a broken finger, McHugh said.
The bus driver and three special needs children riding the bus were unharmed, McHugh said.
