OK, we get it: Drake loves Miami.
The 31-year-old Canadian rap star has been spreading money and goodwill throughout the city this week, beginning with a surprise visit to Miami Senior High School on Monday to shoot parts of his new music video "God's Plan." He donated $25,000 and promised students they'll get uniforms designed by his clothing label.
Then he surprised University of Miami student Destiny James with a $50,000 scholarship.
"My senior year is taken care of, I can finally just be a student," James told NBC 6 Thursday. "I don't have to work crazy hours to tray and cover tuition."
James thought she was starring in a UM scholarship promo when she was surprised by Drake with the check.
"I can go through senior year knowing Drake paid for my last year here at the best school ever," she said.
And then, The Miami Herald reports, Drake paid the grocery bills of every shopper inside a Sabor Tropical supermarket.
"Drake walked in right here, he was standing over here, next thing you know he was holding a megaphone and he was just announcing to everyone that he was going to buy everyone's groceries," said Guillermo Deza, who had $400 worth of food paid for by the star. "It was insane, I have groceries for about two or three months now."
He also gave $50,000 to a non-profit for a homeless shelter where he also dropped $150 Target gift cards for all 130 women residents.
His Instagram photo shows him on the water with a caption saying "Miami thank you."
