Drunk Dad Makes 15-Year-Old Son Designated Driver

Tampa man dodges drunk driving bust, arrested for child neglect

It was smart of Darran Foraker to get a designated driver after downing a few too many drinks Saturday night, but it was who he chose as his DD that got him in trouble.

The 41-year-old Tampa man was arrested over the weekend after police say he let his 15-year-old son drive him home because he was too drunk.

Foraker's dodge Caravan was pulled over by Hillsborough County deputies Saturday night after they saw his brake lights not working.

They found the teen behind the wheel and Foraker riding shotgun with a good buzz.

Foraker told the deputies he was too drunk to drive and didn't have money to stay at a hotel because he'd spent it all on alcohol.

He also said he was too drunk to care for his kid.

Foraker was arrested on child neglect charges and was being held on $2,000 bail. It's unknown who took custody of his son.
