Pair Charged With Tot's Murder Claim He Was Just Spanked

Toddler was found to have a ruptured liver and torn intestines along with visible bruising

The mother of a toddler who was beaten to death Friday says she gave the boy away to the Miami woman now charged in his murder because she was no longer able to care for him.

That woman and a second person charged in child's brutal death admit to striking him, but claim two-year-old Daquan Davis was only spanked with a sandal.

Davis was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital yesterday when police responded to a call to the home in which he was living and discovered he had visible bruising from repeated blunt force trauma. He did not survive.

It was discovered that he had also sustained a ruptured liver and torn intestines, injuries that contributed to his death.

25-year-old Roseline Louidor, a family friend, has been arrested and charged with first degree murder child abuse, along with 26-year-old Serrel Cameo Walkin.

Davis' mother says she gave him away to Louidor in September of 2010.
