Fire Breaks Out Inside NW Miami-Dade Recycling Plant For Second Time Since July

Crews responded to a massive fire inside a Northwest Miami-Dade recycling plant early Wednesday, the second time at this location in recent months.

The two alarm fire broke out just after midnight near NW 37th Avenue and North River Drive, located near Miami International Airport. Metrorail service in the area was halted as a result.

Officials have not released information on what caused the fire to start or if anyone was hurt, adding it has been contained but crews are working to get deep into piles in an effort to make sure it is totally out.

Residents and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
