Man Charged in ‘Child Porn on Demand' Case in South Florida

A Nevada man is facing federal charges in South Florida after authorities say he photographed and videotaped himself sexually abusing a 2-year-old girl for a Lauderhill man who requested specific acts.

Jason Barber, 37, is facing six counts of producing and distributing child pornography, the Sun-Sentinel reported. He was transferred from Las Vegas to South Florida where he remains without bond. His attorney didn't respond to requests for comment from the paper.

Authorities say 48-year-old Benedict Shaw sent graphic and disturbing instructions to Barber about what to do with the child. Barber then shared the photos and videos of abuse with Shaw online.

Barber had befriended the toddler's mother and offered to babysit the girl. He was arrested after a man found child pornography on a cell phone he bought from Barber, authorities said.

Shaw is serving 45 years in federal prison after pleading guilty last year. At his sentencing, U.S. District Judge Robert Scola Jr. called it a "child porn on demand" case.
