Man Found Trespassing in Hot Tub Says He Was Trying To Warm Up: Report

Torey Leonard, 23, bathed in the Diplomat Oceanfront Residences Tuesday morning, police said

A man charged with trespassing told a Broward County judge that he got into a hot tub at a Hollywood Beach condo to warm himself up, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Torey Leonard, 23, tried out the hot tub at The Diplomat Oceanfront Residences sometime before 8 a.m. Tuesday and was forced from the water after refusing to get out, according to Hollywood Police.

Leonard told Judge John “Jay” Hurley that he was trespassing because he was cold, explaining “I’m anemic,” the Sun Sentinel reported.

“Can you take care of your anemic condition without going into the hot tub at The Diplomat?" Hurley asked him, according to the paper, and Leonard said, “I didn’t do nothing but trespass.”

The 28-story luxury condominium tower is next door to the Westin Diplomat hotel on South Ocean Drive in Hollywood.

Leonard was being held at the Broward Main Jail on $25 bond Thursday afternoon, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
