North Miami Personal Watercraft Thieves Caught on Camera

Police are looking for thieves who were caught on camera stealing personal watercraft in North Miami.

The theft happened Tuesday, when the suspects arrived on a watercraft in the canal behind 1835 Keystone Boulevard and 13205 Coronado Lane, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspects stealing the personal watercrafts around 5:30 a.m.

Michelle Madrid said she hasn't been able to sleep well since her Jet Ski was stolen.

"My mom woke me up around 10 in the morning and she told me, 'Michelle, your Jet Ski is gone. Somebody stole it,'" Madrid said. "The jet ski was right here and this camera was pointing right at his face and that’s a sensor light so that light came on and he looked straight at it and that’s when he looked at the camera."

Madrid said the watercraft was worth about $15,000.

The suspects were also caught on camera trying to steal another watercraft behind 2408 Northeast 135th Street, but they were confronted by a witness and fled in the canal.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the North Miami Police Department at 305-891-8111.
