One Person Injured After ATV Crashes Into SUV In Miami

An ATV crashed into an SUV Sunday, sending one person to the hospital in critical condition.

According to City of Miami Police, the injured ATV rider was traveling on the wrong side of the road when it crashed into a Ford Expedition around 7 p.m. Sunday. Police said a group of bikers were riding in the area when the incident happened.

Cell phone video captured earlier Sunday shows a crowd of ATV riders and bikers causing chaos in Brickell. The group blocked off the street near the entrance of Brickell Key. An NBC6 viewer also spotted them driving on the wrong side of the road.

Miami police have not yet confirmed if the injured ATV rider was part of this group.

Florida law states it is illegal to operate an ATV on any public road, street or highway, unless granted permission by a relevant government authority. Off-highway vehicles can only be operated on unpaved roads where the speed limit is less than 35 miles per hour.

The victim of the incident has not yet been identified. An investigation is now underway.
