Threat at Palm Beach Gardens Schools Deemed Unfounded: Police

A bomb threat that prompted two schools in Palm Beach Gardens to evacuate was later determined to be unfounded, NBC affiliate WPTV in West Palm Beach reports.

The threat was issued to the Arthur I Meyer Jewish Academy, located at 5225 Hood Road.  It prompted the neighboring Mandel JCC Early Childhood Learning Center to undergo a voluntary evacuation.

After a through sweep, police determined the threat to be unfounded.

WPTV reports that a large number of children were gathered outside the school, and that school buses arrived to get the pre-school students out of the building.

Police have not yet identified who was behind the threat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department at (561) 799-4445.
