With Super Bowl 54 locked down for South Florida in 2020, attention will now turn to planning.

New details were released Wednesday by the host committee on what's in store leading up to the game, the fun, festivities and football mania that will take over downtown Miami.

"Biscayne Boulevard will be converted into an interactive football field," former Dolphin Larry Csonka said at Wednesday's presentation.

Super Bowl 54 will not only mark the NFL's centennial year but will put South Florida at the top of the list of having hosted more Super Bowls than any other city, ahead of New Orleans.

The game was last played in South Florida in 2010, but Super Bowl LIV will be the first one played in the Dolphins' newly-renovated stadium. Improvements will include new seating, technology, food options and an open-air canopy that will offer shade for most fans inside.

A 400 person crew is working 24/7 to get the stadium in Miami Gardens ready.

"The Super Bowl is coming home and it will be played in Miami Gardens, 110,000 people welcoming the Super Bowl to their hometown," Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert said.

The NFL had made it clear that South Florida wouldn't see another Super Bowl until upgrades were made.

"We put together probably our most comprehensive bid proposal that I've ever been involved with and I've been doing this for 28 years," host committee chairman Rodney Barreto said.

The host committee is now working on rolling out the welcome mat with plans to transform Downtown Miami into "Super Bowl Park" for the thousands who are expected to pump money into the South Florida economy.
