The shooting happened Saturday in the area of Northeast 3rd Court and 138th Street.

Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in Northeast Miami-Dade.

The shooting happened Saturday in the area of Northeast 3rd Court and 138th Street.

Detectives said one person was shot and taken to Ryder Trauma Center to be treated, but the extent of the injuries is unknown. Police said that victim, who has not been identified, may not have been the intended target.

Neighbors who heard the gunshots said the shooter fired several rounds.

"He kept shooting, firing the fire arm repetitively until they were emptying out the casings," said long-time resident Fonchae Benni.

Benni said she was sitting on her porch when she heard the gunshots, and now she is frightened to be out in the open in her own neighborhood.

"I feel like it's not safe to be walking in the broad open daylight," she said.

Police said they are looking for two male suspects in a dark-colored Nissan with dark tinted windows. Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
