Social media accounts linked to attempted mail bombings suspect Cesar Altieri Sayoc Jr. were marked by opposite extremes: split between considerable praise for President Donald Trump and discernible hostility toward Democrat leadership.
At least two Twitter accounts and one Facebook account that appear to belong to Sayoc have posts that denounce or insult Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, former President Barack Obama, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Vice President Joe Biden.
The accounts also have posts criticizing the media, including CNN, and other figures, such as business magnate George Soros.
Other posts show admiration for the Republican Party – adoration for Trump in particular.
Community Reacts to Sayoc's Arrest
Numerous posts show Sayoc participating in pro-Trump events, such as a 2016 Trump rally in Florida. He also appears to have attended Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, 2017, according to pictures on the accounts.
Sayoc, 56, posted video selfies of himself while the events were ongoing.
In other posts, Sayoc called Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg a "fake phony" who was paid by Soros. He also called Florida Gov. Rick Scott the "greatest Governor Ever."
The FBI said it has analyzed the suspect's social media posts. He faces five felony charges and up to 48 years in federal prison.
Sayoc was arrested on Friday at an AutoZone location in Plantation. His van, which features numerous pro-Trump and pro-GOP decals, was towed away by officials.
