The Miami Police Department said a pastor was carjacked at gunpoint in Miami as video from the scene shows a suspect in custody.
Police said the pastor was robbed in the area of NW 7th Avenue and 46th Street. The pastor's vehicle was located at NW 79th Street and NW 32nd Avenue.
NBC 6 received an email stating that the man robbed of his car is the pastor of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, located at6 98 NW 47th Terrace in Miami. The email states that the church has repeatedly requested the city to improve security by blocking its parking lot to protect parishioner, but added that request has been denied.
"Something needs to be done to protect the community. Leadership needs to step up to help keep our community safe," the email reads. "This safety concern has been brought to the attention of officials numerous times and its time the safety of community members are made a priority by those we elected to lead."
