An early-morning crash sent one Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy to the hospital, police said.
A patrol car collided with a gray pickup truck on West Sample Road near NW 27th Avenue, injuring the deputy, who was taken to North Broward Medical Center, police said. Police confirmed the accident at 7:30 a.m., shortly after it occurred.
The hood of the deputy’s car was smashed in, and a tire from it flew off across the street.
The crash prompted police to block off eastbound lanes between NW 27th Avenue and NW 29th Avenue.
