Authorities say a man crashed into a Tampa Bay area house while speeding away from the scene of a shooting.
St. Petersburg police report in a news release that officers were responding to a possible brawl in the neighborhood early Wednesday morning. They heard a barrage of gunshots in the area of an earlier homicide and then saw several vehicles drive away quickly.
Officers pursued one of the cars, which eventually lost control, hit several other vehicles and then crashed into the house.
The car's driver was taken to a St. Petersburg hospital with minor injuries. Police say he faces charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license and felony marijuana possession.
No other injuries were reported.
