The U.S. Coast Guard said it returned 25 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba this week.
After a vessel with 20 migrants was spotted south of Key West last Thursday, Aug. 2, the Coast Guard cutter Nantucket met them and safely took the Cubans on board, the Coast Guard said.
Last Sunday, the Coast Guard cutter Campbell took on board another group of migrants after the federal agency learned of a “rustic vessel” that was carrying five people 70 miles southwest of Marquesas, Florida.
Both groups of migrants were transferred to a cutter called the Key Biscayne and repatriated to Cuba on Thursday.
