A beached whale washed ashore on a small island in Southwest Florida
The young sperm whale was found on the Gasparilla Island by beach goers early Tuesday.
Video released Wednesday shows rescue teams and biologists working for hours to save the baby whale -- which was in pretty bad shape.
Officials say they believe the calf was separated from its mothers.
Unfortunately, the calf had to be euthanized.
