Deputies Shoot Barricaded Man in Fernandina Beach

An argument between two brothers ended with one of them being shot in the arm by a sheriff's deputy in Fernandina Beach.

Authorities say 52-year-old Eric Swenson barricaded himself in a home Wednesday after arguing with his 48-year-old brother Timothy Swenson.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leper says Eric Swenson was shot after pointing a gun at deputies who had surrounded the home. Eric Swenson was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. He hasn't been charged.

The Florida Times-Union reports the younger brother called police after Eric Swenson got upset over a canceled job interview and a family wedding he wasn't invited to. At some point, he pointed a rifle at his brother and fired, leaving powder burns.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
