Downed Power Lines May Have Caused Fort Lauderdale Fire

Some downed power lines may have caused a fire in Fort Lauderdale Monday, as South Florida began to feel the effects of Hurricane Dorian.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue crews responded to the fire at a home in the 3300 block of 14th Court, officials said.

The blaze set some bushes on fire and jumped to a nearby shed, where gas cans and propane tanks were being stored.

Crews were able to quickly put the fire out, but some residents in the area were left without power.
