An early morning fire in Northwest Miami-Dade has drawn is under investigation based on a fatal shooting that occurred there just one week before.
Fire rescue crews responded to the scene at Northwest 18th Court and 81st Avenue shortly after 1:30 AM Thursday morning. They were able to put out the blaze, but both the home and a car outside sustained serious damage.
The house was the same place where 24-year-old Barryson Louis was shot last Thursday. He would get in his car and drive down the street shortly after being hit, but would later die.
Police would not confirm if the fire was arson related or involved in any way with last week’s incident or in any way done in an effort to harm the victim’s family, who moved out of the home shortly after the shooting.
