An elderly woman was hospitalized after she was struck by a car on Miami Beach Friday, authorities said.
Miami Beach Police said a woman in her 80s was struck in the area of 5th Street and Meridian Avenue. She was taken to Ryder Trauma Center with head injuries.
The driver remained at the scene. The crash had the westbound lanes of Meridian Avenue closed at 5th Street.
No other information was immediately known.
