1 Arrested as Federal Officials, Police Raid Day Care in SW Miami-Dade in Child Pornography Probe

Officers with Miami-Dade Police and Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a search warrant at Little Seeds Academy

Federal officials and police raided a home that serves as a day care in southwest Miami-Dade early Monday, making at least one arrest during a child pornography investigation.

Officers with Miami-Dade Police and Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a search warrant at Little Seeds Academy near Bird Road and 104th Avenue around 4:30 a.m.

Homeland Security Investigations spokesman Nestor Iglesias says the raid was tied to a search warrant seeking evidence such as computers, cellphones and laptops. Iglesias says the identity of the man arrested won't be released until the case is unsealed Tuesday.

Iglesias says it's unclear yet if any children there were involved in pornography but investigators are looking into that.

The owners of the property, a husband and wife and their two adult sons, were being questioned. Officials said parents had been notified and the day care was closed for business Monday.

"i just want to know if it's true or not. There are so many comments," parent Mirna Gomez said Monday. "My daughter was the last one every day. She was the last one here."

Federal officials released few details of the raid but said they were still investigating.
