Florida Teen Faces Felony Charge After Taking Pocketknife to School

A Florida teen has been arrested after telling deputies he clipped a pocketknife to his underwear and carried it to school for three days.

The 16-year-old was arrested Monday and now faces felony charges of possession of a weapon on school property.

Flagler County Sheriff's spokeswoman Laura Williams says he was released to his parents.

The Daytona Beach News Journal reports deputies went to the teen's house after his father called them Monday night to report the weapons complaint. According to the father, the teen's sister told their parents he had been carrying the knife to Flagler Palm Coast High School.

The boy told deputies he found the knife in his dad's dresser and didn't realize the seriousness of carrying it to school.

Deputies noted he didn't appear remorseful.
