Former Pasco Deputy Arrested in Davie for Allegedly Enticing Juvenile Male

A man who served as a deputy in Pasco County for less than a year is now out of a job after he was arrested in Davie on suspicion of enticing a minor.

In a release from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, the department indicated that 22-year-old Matthew Aaron Bondi was terminated due to his probationary status.

"We hold ourselves accountable for our actions," Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said of their decision to terminate Bondi.

According to the release, Bondi is accused of traveling to Davie to meet a juvenile male. Law enforcement was notified, and Bondi was arrested for suspicion of enticing a minor.

According to the criminal complaint, Bondi began exchanging graphic messages with an actual teenager in early June, but a detective took over the boy's phone in July and continued the conversations.

Police later posed as the boy and arranged to meet Bondi. He was taken into custody.

Bondi was formally charged in federal court Wednesday with luring or enticing a minor into sexual activity.

Bondi was being held in the Broward County Jail without bond. Jail records didn't list an attorney.
