Major July 4th Festivities Take Place in Downtown Miami

Huge crowds gathered at Bayfront Park Tuesday night to celebrate the Fourth of July.

It was a dazzling display of American patriotism from Downtown Miami. Thousands of people basked in the glow of fireworks from Bayfront Park.

The free festivities began early Tuesday afternoon. Activities like pony rides and a kid’s play zone were available. As the day went on, the smells of food from vendors in the park could be smelled throughout Bayfront Park.

Dozens of officers and firefighters were on hand to make sure everyone had a safe holiday.

City of Miami Fire Rescue said a tourist was taken to the hospital after being hit in the head, neck and shoulders by falling coconuts.

Organizers called this the largest Fourth of July fireworks show in South Florida.

Many tourists came to South Florida for the holiday. “That was an awesome display of fireworks, said Andy Radomski of Kentucky, “We came down to South Florida just to see this. Awesome!”
