A Miami Beach man was taken to the hospital after an apparent hit and run accident early Friday morning.
Crews responded to the scene shortly before 7 AM near 14th Street and Michigan Avenue. The victim was on a scooter when he was hit by a car. Witnesses told police that the vehicle involved later fled north on Alton Road.
The victim, who was helped by a Good Samaritan until rescue crews arrived was taken to Ryder Trauma Center, where he is listed in stable but critical condition.
