A Miami-Dade Animal Services Department employee is facing grand theft and official misconduct charges after police say he racked up thousands of dollars in unauthorized purchases using an official departmental credit card.
Genesis Yunes-Brito, 24, was arrested Friday by the Miami-Dade Police Department's Public Corruption Section, officials said.
According to police, Yunes-Brito was traveling in northern Florida and southern Georgia back in September when he used the card for purchases totaling $3,150.
Yunes-Brito was booked into jail and later released on bond. Attorney information wasn't available.
