NBC 6 Speaks With Presidential Candidates Ahead of Florida Primary

NBC 6 got to speak with several of the 2016 presidential candidates Tuesday, a week before primary day in Florida.

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump spoke with NBC 6 South Florida Today hosts Eric Harryman and Sheli Muniz, where he took shots at GOP rival Sen. Marco Rubio.

"He's a very bad representative of the people of Florida," Trump said Tuesday from West Palm Beach. "He never shows up to vote."

Rubio hit back at Trump in an interview with NBC 6 anchor Jawan Strader, saying Trump would "be a disaster" as the GOP nominee.

"This is a guy that's been insulting people in the most outrageous terms possible for over a year now, he has mocked a disabled journalist, he made fun of a female journalist, he's made fun of Hispanics and minority groups," Rubio said. "There comes a point where you've got to stand up to the guy and say 'enough is enough.'"

Rubio's wife Jeannette also spoke with NBC 6 Tuesday, as she hit the campaign trail in Miami for her husband's cause.

"We are excited about this and even though sometimes it is tiring, nothing in life that is good is easy," she said.

NBC 6 anchor Jackie Nespral also spoke with Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders at his campaign event in Miami.
