No Evidence Found of Shooting at Bayside: Miami Police

No evidence of a shooting at Bayside during July 4th celebrations has been found and no arrests have been made, Miami Police officials said Tuesday.

According to police, officers heard and were advised of gunshots just before 10 p.m. Monday in the area of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 4th Street.

The incident caused hundreds of people to begin screaming and running toward the entrance of Bayside. Police said it's believed fireworks were set off inside Bayside Market Place, causing patrons to run from inside.

Officers conducted several sweeps of the area and determined there was no shooter inside Bayside and the area was deemed safe, officials said. During a canvass of the area, no casings, victims, suspects or video evidence of a shooting were found, officials said.

A woman was injured in her head during the incident, and a man sustained an injury to his leg. An unrelated arrest was also made for disorderly intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer, officials said.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call Miami Police at 305-603-6420.
