Christmas Eve means different things to different people – but for much of South Florida’s Hispanic community, it means gathering with friends and family for the annual event known as Noche Buena.
The event, held at homes across the area, sees Hispanic families come together for laughter, dancing, and of course plenty of food.
With center pieces like tradition Cuban slow roasted “lechon”, Puerto Rican “coquito” and Mexican tamales, all on the table and up for grabs. Many of the parties last till the early hours of Christmas Day, with midnight as the official “present opening” hour for many families.
