Officials Lift Swimming Advisory at Sunny Isles Beach

It’s now safe to swim at Sunny Isles Beach, officials say.

Five days after the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County issued a swimming advisory for the beach at 173 Street and Collins Avenue, the department lifted the advisory, it announced Tuesday.

The beach had a satisfactory microbial water quality test result, the department said.

The beach was closed because levels of bacteria from animal intestines were too high.
