Pembroke Pines Man Had Hundreds of Child Porn Pictures: Police

Police say 43-year-old man admitted to obscene communications with children online

A Pembroke Pines man is facing child pornography charges after police say he was found with hundreds of images of young boys and admitted to having obscene communications with kids.

Alberto Jose Blanco, 43, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Broward jail, where he was being held without bond.

Police said they started investigating Blanco after they received a tip that someone at the home he shares with his mother was possibly in possession of child pornography.

Blanco admitted to the possession and stated that he had also had obscene communication online with young boys, police said. Blanco told detectives he created a fictitious social media account which he utilized to contact the children, police said.

When detectives searched his tablet, they found "hundreds of pictures of young boys engaging in explicit behavior," an arrest warrant said.

The warrant said Blanco has some type of diminished mental capacity, and his mother told investigators he "normally surrounds himself with young children because he does not fit in with adults."

Blanco repeatedly apologized to detectives and begged for forgiveness, the warrant said.

Police said Blanco alleged to having been employed as a counselor in South Florida but authorities haven't been able to confirm that information. Blanco may have had access to children, police said.

The Pembroke Pines Police Department is asking anyone with information on Blanco to contact them at 954-431-2200.
