Road Rage Incident Ends in Fatal Shooting: Miami-Dade Police

Miami-Dade Police are investigating a case of road rage that led to shots fired and one man dead.

The incident happened Sunday night on Southwest 212th Street, and claimed the life of 23-year-old Josue Galban.

Family members of Galban told NBC 6 on Monday they're still trying to make sense of what happened. They say Galban appears to have shot himself during the incident.

"Josue was a happy, happy person, my brother, there's, I'm really sad that he had to go this way, especially with a self-inflicted shot," sister Jazmin Galban said.

The scene Sunday night looked more like a shootout. Police said officers responded to a parking lot in Cutler Bay where they found dozens of shell casings and Galban critically shot.

According to police, Galban and another driver were involved in a dispute that quickly escalated into a deadly shooting. The family said Galban may have died from his own gunfire.

Galban was set to become a father in September when his girlfriend gives birth to his first child. His sister said she's trying to comfort his girlfriend.

"Try and keep her calm, not conflict with the early birth," she said. "She's not calm, they were really, she was really in love with him and it's really been hurting everybody."

Since the gunshots may have been self-inflicted no charges have been filed yet against the other driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
