Sea Turtle Pool Being Built at Florida Panhandle Center

Construction has begun on a saltwater pool at the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center.

Officials say the pool will likely be completed by week's end. The center's spokeswoman Jennifer Polus says a stadium with seating for 30 people will be built next to the pool.

The Pensacola News Journal reports the new pool will be home to two sea turtles too injured to return to the wild.

Polus says it will give the public a "chance to observe the turtles."

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will inspect the pool and send injured turtles to the conservation group.
