Search Efforts Increased for Man Behind Violent Attack

The search is on for the suspect behind a violent attack that was caught on camera.

The video shows a woman, 38, being ripped from her bicycle and dragged away. She was able to fight the man off, but police want to take him off the streets before he hurts anyone else.

"If it wasn't in her will to fight and to say alive, we could be looking at something different today," said Det. Marjorie Eloi with Miami-Dade Police.

On Wednesday, officers canvassed the area, armed with flyers. They put out information about the attack and alerted the public to be vigilant.

"If you do see him or somebody that looks like him, don't hesitate to call 911," police told residents as they canvassed the area.

Detectives said the video shows an armed kidnapping and attempted sexually battery in the parking lot of a restaurant near 115th Street and West Dixie Highway.

The attack happened Monday between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, around 5'7" with a short, bushy Afro hairstyle and thick eyebrows. He also had a thin, muscular build.

"This guy was brazen, he was violent and he wasn't afraid to attack this woman," Det. Eloi said.
