The Davie Police Department has released a sketch of a man who allegedly attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl into a van.
Police said the girl described the man as Hispanic approximately 30 to 40 years of age with a beard and short hair.
The girl was riding her bike home from school on Tuesday when a blue van approached her, police said. The driver stopped and told the girl he would give her $20 if she got in the van.
The girl said no and left.
The attempted abduction occurred near the 6100 block of SW 38th Court in Davie, police said.
"It's not a place where I would have my daughter running up and down the street on her bike ... which is sad," resident K.C. Santos said. "You're at your home – at your neighborhood – it should be comfortable."
The van is described as an older model blue Dodge Caravan with a dent on the driver side door.
