A suspicious package found in a Hollywood park Thursday morning turned out to be used fireworks, officials said.
The item was found shortly before 9 a.m. in the 1500 block of Jefferson Street near Jefferson Park, according to Hollywood Fire Rescue officials.
About 10 homes were evacuated after a passer-by found the device and flagged down a police officer.
According to officials, the device looks like a couple of cylinders held together by duct tape.
The bomb squad was called to the scene and determined the package didn't pose any danger.
