Miami Police are investigating the shooting of an 18-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon at Curtis Park.
Around 4 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of a young girl shot outside the park area, located at 2300 Northwest North River Drive.
According to investigators, the victim, identified as Meagan Hernandez, was standing in the parking lot area of the pool section at Curtis Park when an unknown person armed with a gun began shooting at her, striking her in the leg.
The gunman fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Hernandez was transported to University of Miami hospital in stable condition. Police did not release any information about suspects or a motive.
